Galway Bay is an ideal location for sailing. There are boats that use the Bay for all kinds of recreational activities. 2009 sees galway play host to the volvo ocean race which stops over in the marina in May and certainly will be one of the highlights of the year.

Festivals in Galway
Galway is a place perfectly suited to festivals. Festivals dominbate the social calendar particularly in summer although there seems to be something happening all year round. The highlights would include the galway Arts Festival and the Galway Races. In 2009 the Volvo Ocean Race is set to become a premier Galway

The Galway Arts Festival 2009 takes place from July 13TH – 26TH and is one of Ireland favourite arts festivals. The city comes alive with fun and fanfare for 2 weeks with a bonanza of artistic mediums showpiecing their work.  From Buskers to World class musicians , from local artists to internationally reputable theatre. There is something for everybody. The climax of the festival is the annual mocnas parade where hundreds of colourful chorographed street performers dance their way through the city streets festival as it attracts a global interest in the city.

The Galway Races is Irelands leading race meet and begins in the first week of august. It is a ritzy and glamourous week for the city where people flock here to breathe the height of summers festive spirit. The streets of Galway at night are crammed with party goers.

The corrib cruise

Come and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of a cruise with us on board the luxurious Corrib Princess. The Corrib Princess sails from Woodquay in the heart of Galway city, along the famous Steamers Line, which is the lakes traditional trade route.

The journey takes passengers along the majestic River Corrib and onto the lake providing visitors with unsurpassed views of the historic monuments and natural amenities that make this the most spectacular waterway in Ireland. The Corrib Princess takes you past castles and various sites of both historical interest and natural beauty. There is an abundance of wild life and the Corrib has a peace and tranquillity all of its own.

You can enjoy this natural wonderland either as a member of a group or with your family or friends or simply by yourself.

The normal sightseeing tour is 90 minutes in duration. From April – October, The Corrib Princess departs Woodquay every day at 2.30pm and 4.30pm for a sight seeing tour. During peak season there are additional tours scheduled. It is advisable to contact our office in advance to make a reservation or to check availability.

The Corrib Princess is a purposed built leisure cruiser, which complies fully with all the Department of the Marine regulations and is licensed to carry 157 passengers.

The Corrib Princess is also available for private charters from early morning until 11pm at night. The duration of a private charter cruise can vary from 30 minutes to a full day depending on your requirements. The flexibility of both the length of the tour and the departure times make a cruise on The Corrib Princess ideal for any group visiting Galway as it can be easily added as part of any itinerary.
